Davis to Host Senior Resources Event in Decatur
U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) today announced that he will be hosting a senior resources event from 9:30a – 11:30a on Tuesday, August 5, at the Decatur-Macon County Senior Center, 1430 N. 22nd St., in Decatur.
“Every day our local offices help seniors with a wide range of issues,” said Davis. “This resources fair is simply an extension of those services to ensure that our seniors have the information and access they need to obtain answers and assistance from the federal government.”
The resources fair will provide seniors and their families with information on services provided by the Social Security Administration, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, AARP, the Decatur-Macon County Opportunities Corporation and other groups. Free health screenings will also be provided by Decatur Memorial Hospital Prime Time Services.
Other groups and organizations expected to be in attendance include the East Central Illinois Area Agency on Aging, Decatur-Macon County Senior Center, Macon County Public Health – Aging and Disability Resource Center, Decatur Public Transit System, and JL Hubbard Insurance & Bonds.
The event will begin at 9:30am with presentations from the Social Security Administration, CMS/ Medicare, and the AARP. The resources fair will begin immediately following the presentations.
