U.S .Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) today released the follow statement on the selection of Timothy Killeen as the next President of the University of Illinois:
"Moments ago I had the opportunity to personally congratulate and welcome Timothy Killeen as the 20th president of the University of Illinois, where he will have an incredible opportunity to both lead and grow the greatest state-public university system in the country. "As I told Mr. Killeen in our conversation, I look forward to working with him and maintaining an active partnership so that I can continue to advocate for the entire university system in Washington, ensuring that priorities, such as the digital manufacturing lab and critical research dollars, become reality. "While we are excited for the future with today's announcement, we are also sad to see our friend and an incredible leader, Bob Easter, leave. I've had the opportunity to meet with President Easter countless times and know that his dedication to our state and these institutions is second to none. Thank you for all your work, Bob, and good luck in your retirement."
