U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) urges residents of Central Illinois who have been impacted by the recent flooding events to visit the Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) in Kincaid.
The MARC, which is hosted by the American Red Cross and a number of local agencies, will help those impacted by the flooding to access disaster recovery resources.
“My thoughts and prayers continue to be with those who have suffered losses due to the flooding from late December,” said Davis. “As communities continue to regroup and recover from this devastating disaster, I urge anyone who has needs stemming from the flood to take advantage of the resources available at the MARC center in Kincaid.”
In addition to the American Red Cross, the following agencies will also have representatives available at the MARC in Kincaid: American Legion, Area Agency on Aging, Christian County Family & Community Resource Center, Community Mission Center, Department of Human Services, Department of Human Services- Rehabilitation, Department of Insurance, Midland Ministries Association, Salvation, and the office of the Illinois Attorney General.
The MARC will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 13 at the American Legion Post 905, 800 Railroad Ave. in Kincaid, Illinois.
Outside of the MARC event, Congressman Davis continues to closely monitor the flood damage within the 13th Congressional District. Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner has given 23 counties the state disaster declaration, including Calhoun, Christian, Jersey, Madison, and Sangamon in Davis’ district. Congressman Davis continues to fight for greater consideration of the localized impact of a disaster when the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is determining the need for federal assistance. These provisions were included in a FEMA reauthorization bill, which passed out of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee last year but still needs to be passed by both chambers of Congress.
Any community or individual still in need of assistance should contact Davis' Champaign office at (217) 403-4690.
