Davis Announces FAA Grant for University of Illinois-Willard Airport
U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.), member of the Aviation Subcommittee, today announced that the University of Illinois-Willard Airport has been awarded a $2.5 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to complete the redesign of a runway configuration to improve safety.
“Willard Airport is a critical part of the Champaign-Urbana community,” said Davis. “Our rural airports ensure our small communities remain economically competitive and connected to the rest of the world. Grants like this one are essential to making necessary upgrades to improve safety and efficiency. As a member of the Aviation Subcommittee, I will continue to be a strong advocate for our rural airports.”
