Davis Statement on Passage of Budget to Advance Tax Reform
U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) today released this statement after the House and Senate passed a Fiscal Year 2018 Budget to advance tax reform.
“Today was a major first step in advancing tax reform, which hasn’t happened since 1986,” said Davis. “This is our chance to give middle-class Americans a pay raise by simplifying and reducing overall tax rates. Right now, our complicated tax code tends to only benefit wealthier Americans who can afford to take advantage of loopholes and special interest deductions. We have an opportunity to change the lives of working Americans for the better and I hope we get bipartisan support to get this done quickly.”

Davis continues to discuss tax reform with families and small businesses in his district. Most recently, Davis toured Mason Manufacturing in Decatur last week where they discussed how tax reform is critical to helping them grow their business and create jobs. Next week, Davis will continue this conversation by hosting a manufacturing roundtable with local businesses at Cim-Tek Filtration in Bement.
