Congressman Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) is pleased to announce that Mid Central Community Action (MCCA) is the recipient of a $125,000 grant from NeighborWorks America.
These grant funds will be used to support MCCA’s efforts to develop and preserve affordable housing, revitalize and sustain neighborhoods, and create jobs in Illinois.
“Mid Central Community Action provides the opportunity for families and communities throughout Central Illinois suffering from domestic violence, homelessness, and poverty to become self-sufficient. I’m proud to see the organization receive this grant,” Davis said. “Hundreds of Illinoisans from the region benefit from the services that the organization provides, and these funds will ensure that they will continue to fulfill their mission of educating, equipping, and empowering people to achieve healthy relationships, finances, homes and neighborhoods."
“Mid Central Community Action is honored to receive this award from NeighborWorks America,” shares Deborah White, Executive Director at MCCA. “This funding will allow us to further our community development work and fulfill our mission to provide opportunities for people in our community to achieve their dreams of financial stability, gainful employment, and homeownership,” adds White.
Established by Congress in 1978, NeighborWorks America is a public nonprofit organization that supports and enhances a network of and regional organizations that assist with community housing and development issues. The Fiscal Year 2018 grant funds were appropriated from the Consolidated Appropriations Act in 2018.

The organization provides services including domestic violence programs, community development assistance, and housing support. In an average year, MCCA assists more than 5,000 individuals and families with its programs and services.
