Davis Announces Upcoming Virtual Open Office HoursU.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) today announced upcoming Virtual Open Office Hours next week in Jerseyville, Hardin, Carlinville, and Carrollton. He will meet with constituents virtually about issues important to them. Open Office Hours have previously been held in-person, but due to Davis testing positive for the Coronavirus on Wednesday, August 5th he will be conducting them virtually. Davis plans to hold Open Office Hours in all 14 counties that comprise the 13th congressional district during Congress' district work period that lasts through the month of August. Throughout his tenure in Congress he has hosted 81 total. Also this year his staff have hosted 13 Traveling Help Desks covering 7 counties. There have been 113 of these constituent service events over Davis' tenure. "I will continue to serve my constituents virtually from home while I quarantine after testing positive for Coronavirus," said Davis. "Our country is facing unprecedented challenges due to the Coronavirus pandemic. During these uncertain times, it is as important as ever that constituents have the opportunity to meet with me and voice their concerns or get help with a federal agency." The previously scheduled in-person Open Office Hours above have been altered to have constituents come to the appointment where Congressman Davis will speak with them virtually over a laptop. Staff will check them in and can provide any necessary in-person assistance. If you need assistance with a federal agency, have policy issues you would like to discuss or just want to say hi, please come by. COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place. Staff and visitors will be required to wear a face mask, hand sanitizer will be provided, and appointments must be made in advance. Additionally, to allow for social distancing, meetings will be limited to no more than four people at a time.
