Davis, LaHood Announce $4,331,426 Grant Award to Illinois State University
Rodney Davis (IL-13) and Congressmen Darin LaHood (IL-18) announced today that the U.S. Department of Education awarded Illinois State University (ISU) a $4,331,426 grant to prepare, develop, and enhance the skills of educators. The funding was awarded through the U.S. Department of Education’s Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) Renewal program.
“I’m the proud parent of three Illinois State University students. I know first-hand the high quality education ISU provides to its student body,” said Rep. Davis. “That great education is thanks in large part to the educators who work at the University. This federal grant will provide ISU educators additional tools and training to help them continue their outstanding work.”
“SEED grant funding is vitally important to the work of Illinois State University’s Center for the Study of Education Policy,” said President Larry Dietz. “Through the Center’s TEAM Lead program, the grant provides support to four Regional Offices of Education across the state and over 80 schools, in which the University is proud to engage in partnerships to enhance the leadership effectiveness of school administrators.”
